Prayers
Question by The Great Purple Hippo: My step-dad is dying, can someone please pray for him?
My step-dad is diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and the doctor has given him about six months to live.
But you see, the problem is I can’t wait that long for him to die. So could you all please pray for him to die sooner, like next week? Thanks, dood!

No. Prayer has been conclusively debunked as completely ineffective, if not outright harmful:

Question by Dreamstuff Entity: Would you consider someone who appends a “please pray now” solicitation to most his answers to be a spammer?
Not just those three words, but an entire paragraph, having little or nothing to do with the question in most cases.
Is such a practice moral?
Does it comply with the community guidelines?

Question by α ρℓα¢є ¢αℓℓє∂ мєℓαи¢нσℓу .: Can you guys please pray for someone from my church?
Someone from my church stopped breathing this evening. He just fell down and his pulse stopped. The ambulance did chest compressions and CPR but he’s still not entirely okay. He’s started to breathe on his own now, but nothing’s for certain. He’s in his 60s. Please pray for him and his family. I really appreciate it. Thank you. May God Bless You!
Thanks everyone but I think he died.
