Question by ♬Fantasymimi♬: Will you guys please pray for my friends cat?
A friend of mine named rebecca, well her cat is sick. He is losing some of his fur and his skin is getting infected. She really doesn’t want to have to put her cat to sleep and her mom cant afford the medication to make her cat better, his name is salem and it would really help if you guys prayed for rebecca and her cat, that he gets better and can live and longer and healthy life. Thank you guys,I know this will mean a lot to rebecca, she is going through a hard time now. Thank You!

The cat needs a vet, not prayers, sorry. The Humane Society will be able to treat the cat for fees much lower than a private veterinarian, and the meds will be affordable.

I will think good thoughts for Rebecca’s cat.

But, there are ways to help. Rebecca or her mom can call the local shelters, the SPCA, PAWS, and local vets for low-to-no cost vet care and medicines. With this option available, it would be an answer to everyone’s prayers for the wellness of Rebecca’s cat.

I will say a prayer for your friend and her cat.If her mom can’t afford the medical help for the cat tell them to contact the SPCA most times they will treat them for free but it is not right to let this little cat suffer, she needs help fast or she won’t be here long.If the Spca or Humane Society won’t treat the cat for free they can (and this will be hard)sign the cat over to one of them and the poor cat won’t have to suffer.Tell her to just give them a call.Good luck.Your friend is lucky to have you as a friend. The prayer is on it’s way.

No actually they can’t/ I’m Rebecca I live in Canada. There closed on Sundays and on Monday. Monday is an offical hoilday for Canada it’s Family day.
So I don’t know what to do. I’m all out of ideas. I’ve cried alot today. I mean alot. I’m sappous to take care of him he’s the same age as me 15. I know he’s old but I’m not ready to lose him yet. Maybe in a couple of years. I don’t care who your God is, I just want my cat to be alive.
My child life hasn’t been the best. I’ve lost alot of people in my life, people who I should have trusted hurted me. My cat, Salem, was the only one I could talk to, care for, and treat how I would want to be treated.
I just want him to be okay. :’(.
    Please just pray.
His infection is all yellow, and red, and swollon, his scab is swollen.
Please pray to what ever you beleive in.
    Please?
My mom can’t afford the medication and I would have too. i don’t have much money and I’m affraid that I won’t be able to afford the medication to help my cat. I’m scared.

Is there any way that you, and a lot of Rebecca’s other friends, could get some money together to help pay for taking Salem to a vet? Maybe, if you and the friends would speak to the vet, you could work out a “deal” to get him treated for a lower cost…..

If this can’t happen, have Rebecca give Salem a good “wipe down” with a warm, damp cloth…….then put some Neosporin Ointment on the sores. This should help to heal the sores, unless they’re already TERRIBLY infected! Neosporin is an “antibacterial” ointment, and is very helpful with healing things like skin sores. He’s probably getting the sores from scratching his skin….and that could be caused by fleas making him ITCH.

Anyway, if you and a bunch of Rebecca’s friends could “chip in” and find enough money to get Salem some help…….it would be a very “good samaritan” thing to do……and you’d all feel very PROUD for doing it.

Hope you figure it out, and the cat gets some help…soon!
    Good luck.

Rebecca, prayers alone aren’t going to do much, but I will offer mine up.

    You said this:
His infection is all yellow, and red, and swollon, his scab is swollen.

Do you have any Epsom salts? If not, then use regular table salt in warm water. Moisten a wash cloth and keep applying this to the wound. Do it then do it again. Then, alternate with a clean cloth that is smeared with a mild soap (like Ivory or Castille) — just rub it on the soap — then sprinkle some salt on it. Lay this on the wound for as long as you can. If you can get the scab to soften, the soap and soakings will help draw the infection out. If you need to, pick at the scab a little to make sure the infection can drain. While the cat needs antibiotics, if you can start getting the infection to drain, you will go a long way in helping your cat survive. You must do this religiously for the next few days.

Do you know any other people with cats? Call them and see if they have any left-over Clavamox tablets. Lots of times cat owners will and if you can get at least a few tabs that will help. If your cat is 10 pounds or less, a double dose 125 mg Clavamox with 62.5 every 12 hours. If you have Neosporin, you can dab a little of that on it.

Emergency vets are open all the time, even on Sundays and holidays, so please try and find one and at least talk to them.

The Lord helps those who help themselves…and sometimes the Lord provides answers in mysterious ways.

Good luck, keep bathing the sore, and I will a prayer for you and your Salem.

Rebecca…when you go to bed tonight, lay serenely on your back with Salem beside you. Breathe deeply and slowly, in through the nose, out through the mouth. When you are relaxed, and with your eyes closed, and breathing deeply, imagine a bright, clear white light of protection around Salem and then around the both of you, and picture Salem with the clear white light in your mind as long as youi can before you go to sleep.

I can’t tell you how many times that has worked for me when I feared the worst for any living thing, person or cat. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try and take care of the wound, but boy that helps.

I wish I knew what Salem looked like, but I will do that for both of you, Rebecca and Salem.

    Good luck, and peace.

Dear Lord, if it be your will, grant this creature a recovery. Let her be loved and give love for the rest of her life. Jesus I humbly ask this in your name. Amen.
